Challenges We Face

The Challenges We Face as a Latino Community

The Latino community in the United States faces multiple challenges that limit its development and full participation in society.

The COVID-19 pandemic not only deepened existing inequalities, but also exposed long-standing problems that especially affect the most vulnerable among us.
Post-pandemic recovery is one of the greatest challenges of our generation. But beyond that, we continue to face daily obstacles such as:

The Latino Community
in the United States in Numbers:

Becoming a vibrant and organized community that generates opportunities under equal conditions with respect to the white majority must be a priority for all Latinos in the United States.

To achieve equality, we must change the laws and regulations that currently act as predatory mandates against our community. This can only be accomplished if we unite to create a strong collective that confronts and challenges the status quo.

Only by evolving and changing the way we interact with other Latinos will we be able to reach our true potential.

Let us not forget that other minority groups in the United States have done this and have achieved impressive results for their communities. This is not new for Latinos — we know that the lack of unity has been our greatest obstacle.

It’s time to change the infamous allegory that explains how “the crabs at the bottom of the bucket pull down the crab that tries to escape to keep it from getting out.”

These challenges are not new — but we must face them together. Latinos US exists to make these issues visible and to invite everyone to be part of the solution. Only through unity can we build a more just, strong, and respected community.
